Siobhain leads debate on brain tumours
In May 2025, Siobhain led a debate in the House of Commons Chamber on the research and treatment of brain tumours.
Almost two years after Siobhain’s sister Baroness Margaret McDonagh passed away from a Glioblastoma brain tumour, progress in the search for a cure remains painfully slow.
In memory of her sister – and for everyone still fighting – Siobhain laid out a path forward, highlighting the need for early diagnosis, more drug trials, reducing the cost of drug trials, and the need to reform the UK’s drugs repurposing agency, the MHRA, to aid the treatment of rare cancers such as Glioblastomas.
