Work Experience
Siobhain McDonagh has been the Member of Parliament for Mitcham and Morden since May 1997. She was born, raised and still lives in Colliers Wood. Before being elected to Parliament Siobhain worked as a Development Manager for Battersea Churches Housing Trust. Siobhain has a weekly Friday advice surgery at the Civic Centre and if you want to book an appointment, please call her Parliamentary office on 020 7219 4678.
Applying for work experience
If you would like to apply for work experience – Siobhain has placements throughout the year which are allocated in order of application.
As Siobhain receives so many requests for work experience placements, we can only offer this to residents of Mitcham and Morden.
Placements are generally for one week, split between the Siobhain’s office in Westminster and her Constituency office in Morden. We can also accommodate a shorter placement if requested.
Please apply as early as possible as Siobhain can only take one student per week and the placements get filled quickly. All visitors to the Parliamentary estate require a security check and this takes approximately four weeks to complete. It is not possible for us to accommodate short notice applications.
Siobhain McDonagh, together with her local Action Teams in each ward, are out and about most Sunday mornings talking and listening to residents. She holds regular tea and coffee mornings to find out what constituents think and want, and regular public meetings about local issues.
