‘Margaret’s Trial’ makes headlines around the world
In July, Siobhain launched a new immunotherapy clinical trial for glioblastoma in memory of her sister, Baroness Margaret McDonagh, called ‘Margaret’s Trial’. The trial, backed by UCLH and UCL with funds raised by Margaret’s friends and family, was inspired in large part by the story of Ben Trotman – a 43-year-old father of two, who after being diagnosed with glioblastoma in October 2022 is now showing no signs of cancer more than two years after receiving experimental treatment through a previous trial.
Ben’s remarkable treatment, and the potential of Margaret’s Trial to expand on this breakthrough, has drawn the attention of news outlets across the world. The story has now featured in a range of major media outlets, including The Telegraph, The Independent, The Standard, The Sun, GB News, Daily Mail and LBC, while international media coverage includes The New York Post, The Times of India and Fox News.
