Siobhain launches new glioblastoma drug trial

Wes Streeting, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care

On Tuesday 1st July, Siobhain launched Margaret’s Trial - a new clinical trial for glioblastoma patients - at a special event in Speaker’s House, Westminster.

The launch event featured guest speakers including Health Secretary Wes Streeting, pioneering medical oncologist Dr Paul Mulholland, and presenter June Sarpong.

The trial was created in memory of Siobhain’s late sister Margaret, with all trial funds raised by Margaret’s friends and family. It will focus solely on newly diagnosed patients prior to surgery and will be led by Dr Mulholland at UCLH.

After decades without progress in the treatment of glioblastoma, Margaret’s Trial offers real hope in the battle to find a cure for the deadliest form of brain cancer.
