Siobhain to attend meeting about Wandle oil spill
On Thursday 24th April, Siobhain will be attending a site meeting at Ravensbury Park to discuss the recent oil spillage in the River Wandle.
She will be joined by representatives from the Environment Agency, Merton Council, the National Trust, and the Rivers Trust to assess the environmental impact of the spill and review the effectiveness of the clean-up response to date.
This incident has had a serious effect on the local environment, and it’s vital to understand how it happened, what more can be done to mitigate the damage, and how we can ensure those responsible are held to account. Siobhain will continue to push for answers, and to make sure the polluters are made to pay.
