Siobhain welcomes £57 million investment in St Helier Hospital
Siobhain has welcomed the announcement of a £57 million investment to improve emergency care at St Helier Hospital.
The funding will deliver a major upgrade to the Emergency Department, including more space for patients, improved facilities, a new Urgent Treatment Centre, and expanded Same Day Emergency Care services.
St Helier Hospital has served generations of families across Mitcham and Morden, and Siobhain has long campaigned for its future.
While the Government has committed to building a new Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Sutton through the New Hospital Programme, Siobhain has continued to make the case for protecting services at St Helier and ensuring residents can access care where they need it most.
Welcoming the investment, Siobhain said:
“St Helier Hospital means so much to families across Mitcham and Morden. Generations of local residents have relied on the incredible NHS staff who work there every single day.
“This £57 million investment is fantastic news. It will improve facilities for patients, support NHS staff, and strengthen the services so many people depend on.
“I will continue fighting to protect St Helier’s future and make sure our community has access to the healthcare it deserves.”
