Siobhain welcomes local families to Parliament for 2026 Children’s Week

Last week, Siobhain hosted her annual Parliamentary Children’s Days, welcoming children and their families from across Mitcham and Morden to the Houses of Parliament.

Over three days, local families had the opportunity to visit Parliament, learn more about how it works and explore one of the most famous buildings in the country.

The children enjoyed tours of Parliament, taking in some of its most recognisable sights and learning about the history of the Palace of Westminster and the work of MPs. Back in the Jubilee Room, there was plenty more to keep everyone entertained, with a parliamentary quiz, colouring and activities, as well as snacks and refreshments.

Every child who took part also received their own certificate of attendance to remember their visit to Parliament.

Siobhain was delighted to welcome so many children and their families from Mitcham and Morden. Her Parliamentary Children’s Days are an opportunity for local children to come inside Parliament, have fun and learn more about the place where decisions affecting their lives are made.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make the three days possible, including all those who gave up their time to help with tours and activities, as well as the families who came along and made the event such a success.

Siobhain hopes everyone who joined the Children’s Days had a brilliant time and came away knowing a little more about Parliament than when they arrived.

For anyone who missed out this year, Siobhain will be hosting her Parliamentary Children’s Days again in summer 2027 and looks forward to welcoming even more local families next year.
