News / Labour Armed Forces Day Reception
This week, a special reception was hosted by Keir Starmer, Leader of the Labour Party, to mark Armed Forces Day.
The event took place in Parliament with Labour MPs invited to bring a special guest from their constituency - a serving member of the armed forces, a veteran, or a member of a military family. Siobhain couldn't choose just 1 and was delighted to welcome 9 special guests to the reception. These included representatives from Haig Housing Trust, who are the leading housing provider for ex-Service
personnel in the UK, as well as members of the South London Nepalese Gurkha
Association.
Speeches were given by Keir Starmer and by John Healey MP, Labour's Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, thanking
our servicemen and women, our veterans and all of their families for their
commitment, their duty and their service.
A huge thank you to all who came and to all who serve.
