Future of the Wilson Hospital

I am so frustrated to report that the plans to reopen the Wilson Hospital have been delayed with the funders pulling out due to the economic uncertainty of Brexit.

Everyone in the constituency knows just how valued and vital the fully operational Wilson and Walk In Centre was and it is beyond disappointing to hear that its reopening has been delayed once again. We must have missed that Brexit bus!

At Prime Minister’s Questions, I brought this issue to the attention of the Prime Minister herself, calling for a People’s Vote on Brexit so that we can save our hospital.

ITV News then came to the constituency to report on the future of the Wilson because if this is happening in Mitcham then who knows just how many other communities around the country are losing out on their promised health centres and GP surgeries due Brexit’s economic uncertainty.
