News / Benedict Primary School visits AFC Wimbledon
Last month, Siobhain organised a visit of 30 lucky children to an
AFC Wimbledon match, to celebrate the club’s Diversity Day, with a fixture dedicated in support of Kick It Out. The children enjoyed a
great match too with Wimbledon scoring the winner in the last minute of stoppage time.
The children were coached and had their own football tournament before meeting the players (and the Womble mascot). The Benedict students were presented with a t-shirt signed by all the players for the school and look forward to meeting. One of the boys said it was the best day of his entire life.
The players are planning to visit Benedict in return, which the children are very excited about.
This provided the school a great platform for teaching tolerance and diversity at school.
