Eye Care in Special Schools

Half of all children with Special Needs require glasses. It’s vital for their learning and a happy life. But many had missed out on crucial eye tests. I have been campaigning with eyesight charity, SeeAbility, to get the NHS to provide opticians to visit Special Schools, such as the outstanding Perseid in Morden, making it easier for children with Special Needs to get the glasses they need. It’s taken lots of speeches in the House of Commons, and a cross party campaign with other Members of Parliament, but I am delighted to say that the campaignhas been successful, with a national rollout across the country.
